Northgate Minerals manages business operations and gains real-time visibility with Illumiti and SAP Business All-in-One

As part of its preparations to commence commercial gold production in its Young-Davidson mine, located in Matachewan, Ontario, Northgate Minerals realized it requires a robust enterprise management application to support operational requirements. In addition to comprehensive, integrated ERP capabilities, they need a system that can grow to support their global operations with capabilities such as multi-language, multi-currency requirements and localized regulatory compliance. To this end, Northgate Minerals selected SAP® Business All-in-One for its operations, and Illumiti as its solution implementation partner.
Following a 14-week implementation project completed by Illumiti on time and within the estimated budget, Northgate went live with the new system in January 2011. The initial implementation includes Financial Accounting, Fixed Assets, Management Accounting, Procurement and Inventory Management.
The implementation now enables Northgate to benefit from visibility to head office and mine site activities within a single system. It also allows them to manage logistical processes in a real time environment and to leverage SAP’s inherent integration between logistics and finance. The foundation is now set for the next phase which includes Plant Maintenance and HR / Payroll.
